The Competition

Who dances what: categories, entry fees, how to enter, eligibility and the rules of the floor.

The field

Categories & dances

Two series over two days, for solo and couple entries: METU Cup basic events with a reduced set of dances, and WDSF Open, Rising Stars and International Open events. Age group is determined by year of birth.

Entries

Entry fees & deadlines

One fee for your first category and a reduced fee for every category after it. All fees are in euros.

Entries open on 28 September 2026 and close on 1 October 2026.

Registration

How to enter

Enter online through the official registration page, get your confirmation by email, check in at the venue with your WDSF eCard, then dance.

  1. Enter online

    Submit your entry through the official registration page before the deadline.

  2. Get confirmation

    You will receive a confirmation email once your entry is accepted and listed.

  3. Check in at the venue

    Report to the registration desk with your WDSF eCard before your first event.

  4. Dance

    Collect your start number, warm up, and take the floor.

Registration Entries open on 28 September 2026 and close on 1 October 2026. The entry link will be published here and on Instagram @metucup when registration opens.

Registration desk hours and start-number distribution will be announced on Instagram @metucup.

Who can enter

Eligibility & licences

  • WDSF Open couple events require a valid WDSF MIN for both partners, with an active eCard presented via the WDSF app at check-in.
  • Age group is determined by year of birth, in accordance with WDSF competition rules, published at worlddancesport.org.

Floor access

Warm-up & floor access

  • The warm-up area is reserved for athletes and coaches. Parents and other accompanying persons are not admitted.
  • Spectators watch from the stands. See Tickets.

On the floor

Dress & conduct

  • WDSF dress regulations apply in all sanctioned events, per age group and discipline. The current regulations are published at worlddancesport.org.
  • The competition is held under WDSF anti-doping rules; athletes may be selected for testing at any time during the event.
